After an unexpected flood appeared at the Patty Cakes Cafe location in downtown Cathlamet, the favorite local coffee shop will be reopening on Wednesday, February 8th. The cafe received extensive water damage in early January after a water valve failed. This resulted in the floor being flooded with a few inches of water, damaging the entire floor and subfloor.

“It was definitely a surprise to open up that morning to water rushing out of the cafe,” stated cafe owner, Patty Vezaldenos, “I am just thankful that the repairs were done quickly so we can get back to work!”

Patty Cakes Cafe is a local staple for coffee, hand-crafted drinks, pastries, and other savory food. Vezaldenos opened the cafe four years ago with a dream to serve the finest espresso and breakfast items to the local community. She has been a staple in town and, while owning a business is not always easy, a flood in the building wasn’t exactly what Vezaldenos had planned for this year.

“I am thankful for the support of the community and to all of our loyal customers who have welcomed me and my business with open arms,” stated Vezaldenos. “We look forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces when we open back up on February 8th.”

Patty Cakes will offer a 10% discount on any purchase during that day.
